"Pastor Donnie Davies" exposed
The "God Hates Fags" pastor Donnie Davies has been exposed as Dallas actor Joey Oglesby. His photo (definitely him) and more info at Joe.My.God. It will be interesting to find out what Oglesby's up to with all of this.
In a world where the Westboro Baptist Church keeps a website called God Hates Fags, his hateful video did not seem farfetched. Nice that it was a hoax. Maybe some light to moderate haters were disgusted enough to reconsider their views?

Frankly, as I have said on many blogs that have discussed 'Donnie', I am amazed that anyone could have believed this would be real. And frankly the fact that people did is a really awful demonstration to the church as to how much of a mess it is in and how low Christians are considered among the masses. Food for thought maybe.
Time to start drowning out the idiot voices of Pat Robinson, Ann Coulter, Jerry Falwell and all the other idiots who seem to represent Christian values to the TV watching millions. - Heck, as 'lite' as he is, I prefer Osteen to any of them!
Yes, thank you! There was so much that seemed unbelievable and so many double entendres. I wish we lived in a world where this kind of thing would instantly be seen as some kind of absurd joke. Alas, that's not the case and I completely agree that all of the hate espoused by the far right wingnuts does tremendous damage to Christians who try to live the way the Bible suggests.
Oglesby is a genius. His parody exposed the Christianist right in ways that a year's worth of NY Times op-eds never could.
