what's that definition of insanity?
doing the same thing and expecting a different result? bush, speaking from the white house this morning:
Q . . . I'd like to follow on Iran. Critics say that you are using the same quality of intelligence about Iran that you used to make the case for war in Iraq, specifically about WMD that turned out to be wrong, and that you are doing that to make a case for war against Iran. Is that the case?
THE PRESIDENT: I can say with certainty that the Quds force, a part of the Iranian government, has provided these sophisticated IEDs that have harmed our troops. And I'd like to repeat, I do not know whether or not the Quds force was ordered from the top echelons of government. But my point is what's worse -- them ordering it and it happening, or them not ordering it and it happening? And so we will continue to protect our troops.

But you won't. You're not the type.
In posting the text (thanks), you smell blood.
And who wouldn't? In a squarer day, way back at the turn of the century, today's speech would have had Bush out of office as of this note, and possibly in psychiatric evaluation.
Who knows what will happen, given that we have been in a post-Constitutional dictatorship for some time. But Bush made a boo-boo that still matters: he said "Money trumps peace." That's blunt and dumb enough to ring in thick, tone-deaf skulls.

Tweedle Dumb. Darth Cheney. Condibot. The first two make most of their income from OIL, the third follows orders to protect her career. I don't expect to hear a different song from this administration, ever. They will follow this path to its horrific, bloody, end. We will lose young men and women, and they will continue to line their pockets. The hubris and greed of these people knows no bounds. I agree with you about the state of their minds. I've thought that about Cheney for years, and am beginning to think that the shrub is not simply stupid, but mentally ill as well.

Define "give up." Because I gave up on Bush a long time ago -- I have not given up on our country yet, which is why I campaigned hard in 2006 (and take full credit for the Democratic sweep, by the way, because I'm THAT powerful), and will do the same in '08 once there's a Democratic nominee.
Bless you, red7eric. Today's events were a baby step that suggests your efforts will be rewarded. But we all know well enough to hold on...it's gonna get uglier than it has ever been.

Come to think, we're at the end of the first half of "Judgment at Nuremberg."
Remember Judy's scene-stealer?
"Oh, poppa, I always knew it would come to this!"
