You do not get to take two months off from the work of getting your country on its feet while American soldiers are dying there every day and the American people are paying for this disastrous civil war.

I agree. We'd never stand for it if our Congress decided to take two months off during a time of violent insurgencies, roadside bombs, and general chaos.
However, we can't really claim too many points for paying for their civil war since, well ... we sorta started it (or, at the very least, egged it on by invading a sovreign nation that had not attacked us and never had the means to do so).
