sweet!

Little Miss Paige, born just two hours ago. Seven pounds, 2 ounces, bright eyed and bushy-tailed. A girl at last after three boys, and the final (and sweet and precious) blow to my view of myself as un-grandmother-like. Everybody's now clipped and tied and there will be no more. A girl. Finally. So happy.

Yay! Congrats, Grandma!

You'll have to do something about that bushy tail eventually, but today is for celebrating!!

Glad you can still get excited about grandkids. After the first one it was, "that's nice honey, now Dad has to go shopping". Honestly, they don't become very interesting till they reach high school and really start driving your kids crazy. Though, the granddaughter is a model student, so I may have to wait until she hits college in 4 years.

eric: did you read about that woman who nearly died from a Brazilian? scary. bushy tail is good.

tony, i feel just the same way. i don't even really want to be around them til they're at least 12. there's something about a brand new baby, though, so sweet and soft and precious. i'll go see her tonight and then not again until 2019 ;-)

Well, what wonderful news and I do congratulate you. I adore children: Especially when they turn 25 and are full fledged doctors, Ph.D. or M.D., I Don't care. Babies drool, poop, and cry, and some folks actually think that's cute.

I think newborns look like wizened Chinese men. My interest in babies perks up when they are 18 months old or so.

Lest you think I am a terrible crochety old crone, all my young nieces and nephews and youngest cousins adore their Aunt MP. She can always be counted on to make them laugh and treat the whole kit and kaboodle to the movies.

Congrats to the sexiest youngest grandma in blogdom.

Well we all seem to be on similar wavelenghts here - adorable at birth then see me when you graduate from Boarding school.

Now a new puppy.... that's a different story.

thanks everybody!! i saw the tiny little thing last evening. what an amazing deal, this fact of a whole new person suddenly emerging into the world. that miracle never ceases to enchant me.

she's a sweetie ~ and no, joe, i don't have children of my own. i got some by accident when i married their daddy. they were 13 and 15 at the time and we have a good relationship.

i am not a breeder ;-) but i get to claim these grandbabies anyway.

Ah, what a relief -- I thought I was losing my mind. I remember now that when I was waxing about my paternal instincts kicking in you mentioned that having children was something you are not cut out for. Thanks for clarifying!

it's nice to get grandkids without having to squeeze out some watermelon-sized thing through an opening the size of a juicy grape. it's nice, too, to be the best grandmother ;-) the others pale in comparison . . . haha!! i can just hear them at school: "my grandmother is a wild-eyed gun totin' crazy lunatic radical"
