dems discuss health care

One of the most moving questions from a participant in the Democratic debate, as discussed by the wet-lipped Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann. Is anyone else stunned by Chris Matthews' support of universal health care? Every time I hear him talk about it, I slap myself. Unbelievable. But good. And more, from DailyKos.

Good for him, and it's about time the richest country in the world adopted universal health care. One of the most touching moments in As Good as It Gets, the movie with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt was how she so worried about not being able to afford proper medical care for her son and was so incredibly moved when the Jack charactor covered her son's health care costs amd found her son a decent doctor.
Are you still planning on visiting Vancouver, would love to meet you in real life.

The more traditionally conservative Middle Americans find themselves in the same boat as the LTV Steel guy, the more politicians will start to have to pay attention to the health care crisis or be voted out.

Or we could just become a completely fascist-run state. Whichever comes first.

I haven't watched this but this kind of feedback from people breaks my heart. What is wrong with this country? If a company goes bankrupt and out of business, it's pension-recipients are just screwed and left out to dry.... and conservatives just say, "Oh well, you made a poor career choice or didn't personally save or invest enough to ensure your own well being."

I think the biggest bit of bullshit in our history (but incredibly brilliant on their part) is how the Rethug party has managed to get so many working-class blue collar citizens to support it when the party so obviously does nothing to support workers who bust their asses day in and day out. I don't understand a working class (especially in the center of the country and in the rust belt) that consistently votes against its own interests.

I competely missed this debate -- it wasn't publicized very well. It's too bad, because regardless of your choice for President, everyone in America should have heard that question.

I did, however, see the Logo "forum" last night -- did you see it, Belle? What did ya think?

Lynette, the GOP was invited ... they all said no. Big surprise. They don't want our votes, pure and simple. Don't need 'em, don't want 'em.

And the gay Republicans wonder why I don't understand them ...
