i believe

in the God I found in AA, the one who saved my ass. Call it superstition, myth or self deception, it is real to me and that relationship transformed my life.

And yet, this kind of shit scares me to death.

"Well, maybe it needs to be devisive!" *shudder*

"Eins, zwei, drei, alle!"
Ooooh, you cannot reach me now
Ooooh, no matter how you try
Goodbye, cruel world, it's over
Walk on by.

Sitting in a bunker here behind my wall
Waiting for the worms to come.
In perfect isolation here behind my wall
Waiting for the worms to come.

We're {waiting to succeed} and going to convene outside Brixton
Town Hall where we're going to be...
Waiting to cut out the deadwood.
Waiting to clean up the city.
Waiting to follow the worms.
Waiting to put on a black shirt.
Waiting to weed out the weaklings.
Waiting to smash in their windows
And kick in their doors.
Waiting for the final solution
To strengthen the strain.
Waiting to follow the worms.
Waiting to turn on the showers
And fire the ovens.
Waiting for the queens and the coons
and the reds and the jews.
Waiting to follow the worms.

Would you like to see Britannia
Rule again, my friend?
All you have to do is follow the worms.
Would you like to send our colored cousins
Home again, my friend?

All you need to do is follow the worms. --Pink Floyd "waiting for the worms"

Well, he's right about one thing: who ever speaks up most gets to shape the culture. Sadly, this squeaky wheel not only gets the grease, but it fuels the fire that this 'battle' feasts on - one whose carnage is no less costly. I want to watch this program, and yet I don't. Like a car crash.

I feel quite ill..

Jesus wasn't a bigot, or narrow minded or into hate in any way. Last time I checked he was pretty much in to tolerance, with the exception of those who had proven they were waste products..

Hey Belle just checking in! Fear is what this guy is selling. I believe the other name for the devil is the great divider...so by this definition... This guy is a devil worshipper.

I ignore ignorance. I see it, know it is there but it isn't getting any of my precious breathe.

I don't have time to Google the title right now, but there was either a book or a documentary film (or both) that drew very convincing parallels between politicized American Christian fundamentalist movements and Muslim fundamentalist movements. They're very similar faces of the same coin in terms of the rhetoric they use and the conclusions they draw about "the other."

I may be naive, but I still believe the majority of "average" Americans are more savvy and don't buy into that -- but unfortunately all that nutjob rhetoric moves what we consider "the center" a little further to the right little by little by little, and has been doing so since the "Moral Majority" was embraced by Reagan in the 1980s.

This is one of but several well-organized and seemingly well-funded groups that play on fear and alienation within a rapidly-developing culture based on perception and unverified information. Thinking is suspicious. Feeling is accepted. Believing is preferred.

In spite of its flaws, last year's movie "V for Vendetta" may have got parts of it right...

YES, this IS frightening, and the ONLY parallels I know of are seeing some of the Fascist documentaries as Hitler brainwashed the Germans as he cuddled up to the Christians, that society needed to be cleaned up. I'm reminded that the Bush kingship is also recruiting ministers to quash dissent in New Orleans....using RELIGION to bring the people into submission. I'll post about that link.

Hi, BigAssBelle...I just wanted to say hi and thanks for saying I was a fresh face over at Joe My God. I'm anything but young but I learned early on from Dick Cheney that enough virgin and/or baby blood can turn that around.
