soldiers speak out

Since the Whitehouse will be whitewashing Petraeus's report in September, we'll need to look elsewhere for an honest assessment of what's happening in Iraq. And lookie! Fresh from the pages of the NYT, soldiers speak. And the consensus is, of course, get the hell out. Think the Bush cretin will listen?

Nope. Not listening.

In Prague, Bush was seeking sympathy from resistance leaders to Egypt's Mubarak government, claiming that he, too, is a "dissident" in Washington...

Really. I am not making this up.

"...As he sat down with opposition leaders from authoritarian societies around the world, he gave voice to his exasperation. 'You're not the only dissident,' Bush told Saad Eddin Ibrahim, a leader in the resistance to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. 'I too am a dissident in Washington. Bureaucracy in the United States does not help change. It seems that Mubarak succeeded in brainwashing them.'..."

He's got talent like that, doesn't he?

He's the Decider, the Commander Guy, the Uniter (not the Divider), and now he's the Dissident. Did I forget one?

Must make it hard to decide what to wear every morning.

You forgot he's a dry drunk and former coke addict with an IQ lower than his shoe size, a chickenhawk coward unfazed at sending other people's kids to die for his financial gain, and he's a martyr suffering for his sincere belief that God Almighty has personally selected him to rule the world (and He says so every day over coffee).

Any more?

I think you both pretty much nailed it. There was a video floating around of him digging in his nose with his finger, at a Ranger's home game. Like fifteen seconds of nose picking. Pretty much sums up my visual and idealogical hatred of this idiot.

Oh, but Lynette ... these soldiers are ON THE GROUND, and they don't have the PERSPECTIVE of General Petraeus or the countless politicians sitting on their butts in Washington DC who've never seen a war zone outside their television sets, who can see the BIG PICTURE ...

Why do you hate America? Why do you hate Jesus?

(sigh, sigh, sigh ...)

Yeah. We're the impatient ones with the problem. And then he says:

"The fundamental question is, Will the government respond to the demands of the people? And, if the government doesn't demand _ or respond to the demands of the people, they will replace the government."

Quick.

Is Bush speaking of Iraq?

Or America?

Or does he know what the hell he's even saying any more?

I swear to God, The Onion appears to have the more rational, reasonable news stories lately.
