white house recognizes gay parents

And right wing nuts despair. Read and rejoice.

We erred in blaming the liberal media (USA Today) for the caption describing the photo of Dick and Lynne Cheney and their new grandson, Samuel David, born to self-identified lesbian Mary Cheney.

It turns out that the caption — identifying both Mary Cheney and her lesbian partner Heather Poe as Samuel David’s “parents” — was the official work of the White House, a point eagerly seized upon by homosexual blogger John Aravosis. In the link below, Aravosis exults in the White House photo as proof of President Bush’s official embrace of “gay” parenting. Of course, the Cheneys’ grandson does not have two lesbian “parents” but one — Mary Cheney, whose lesbian partner, Heather Poe, only creates an artificial, fatherless “family.”

From Americans for Truth (hard to type that without my fingers seizing up), a "newly reorganized national organization devoted exclusively to exposing and countering the homosexual activist agenda."

Off Topic. Good name for a book. Anyway, I go away for a week and you get a face instead of just eyeballs? What's up?

oh hell yeah -- I never ever thought you'd hear this coming out of my mouth, but kudos to the White House if this was a conscious recognition, an actual statement. Hey, gotta start somewhere.

If not, if the caption-writer just didn't catch it, and is being flogged as I type, then I offer simply: bwa-ha-ha-ha! Live with it, W.! Dick's got a daughter-in-law for all the world to see.

just browsed to the link to 'Americans for truth"...not a good way to start my day!!

Some of their other 'rants' and articles might have a bit more 'validity' if they didn't have so many errors, both grammar and punctuation!

your new pic has livened up the blogsphere!

I kinda hate to let them into the club, but if it embarrasses the White House, I'll hold my nose and let 'em in.

I too like the new picture Lynette. You are just a little ray of sunshine. Dirty minded sunshine, but sunshine none the less.

Peter laBarbera is not only a hate mongering Jackass, but he lives within 15 miles of me. That scares me.

Peter LaBarbera is totally gay. As is anyone who devotes his entire life to homo-hating.

Says me.

tater - get out of there man... save yourself!

red7eric - please we don't need him on our side.

And that website scares me... it would be funny if I didn't know that someone is reading it at this minute and nodding their head in agreement.

Love the new pic Lady... so now we know that not only the eyes smile...

Hm... Don't know how convinced I am about the White House "embracing" gay parenting. Mary & Heather may get a mention, but I don't see any lesbians in that photo. Well, unless... you don't think.. Lynne Cheney is...?

And then there's Steve Bennett, a (hahahaha!!!! oh my, wiping tears from my eyes) ex-gay, writing this about Heather Poe:

She has NO biological connection to the child whatsoever. Some man, the baby’s real Daddy, is the child’s other REAL parent.

Wonder how adoptive parents would feel about that "REAL parent" tag for the egg/sperm donors?

As the parent of an adopted child whose godfather is gay, I am right there with you, Lynette!

I get so sick of people telling us what a family is "supposed" to be.

Americans for Truth should be renamed Americans for Hate Mongering, Homophobic Ignorance! Phew, I feel better now...

Hey Lynette: regarding the Steve Bennett comment, I think I did a search on the Cheney baby topic once on freerepublic and saw similar wingnut comments all over the place when the news was "Mary and Heather expecting a baby." They practically flipped their gourds saying things like "Unless Heather is pregnant, those articles are totally misrepresenting -- SHE'S not expecting ANYTHING!"

Don't ask me why I'm drawn (even rarely) to look at freerepublic. Maybe to remind me how fucking crazy and f***ed up some people are? It's entertaining, but also so sad, all that hatred.

Check out what I wrote about today for more of the same....

(oh, and I totally agree with everyone about the great new photo!)

"White House photo as proof of President Bush’s official embrace of “gay” parenting"

Your kidding right? I am a lesbian mother and you can rest assured the only embracing Bush has done of gay parenting is to pull the noose tighter around my neck. Our families have had a bullseye on our asses since the man took office. And, he was govener of our state prior to that.
