the GOP's culture of corruption

As Larry Craig says, "Nasty, bad, naughty" boys. It's really something to see this year's parade of thugs and thieves all in one place. The list, courtesy Oklahoma's Doc Hoc. I'm getting that delicious sense of schadenfreude again.

Why does this seem like just the tip of a very large iceberg? Perhaps if the list included all of the scandals from both the GOP and the Dems, we might have some movement by the people on the public funding of elections, to help weed out the temptation of this endless corruption. Seems to me that just about everyone in politics is coated with a degree of sleeze, in one form or another. The dems seem to be less hypocritical and more about money than hookers and child predation. Until all that cash ripe for the taking is removed from the incentive list, politicians will be doing their own business along with/instead of the people's.

BJ ~ is there any reason for schadenfreude in New Zealand? i have a vision of a perfect world down there . . .

Dusty, long ass list, yes indeedy. Ms. Place, he is a free spirited hypocrite, isn't he? i'm leaving, no i'm not, i'm leaving, no i'm not. criminy, what a loon.

tater: seems that way, doesn't it? i figure the dems have about 4 years before they become as scandal-ridden as the rethugs now, minus most of the sex scandal stuff because it's just not scandalous when folks who sort of believe in privacy and our right to fuck whoever we want to get laid somewhere. it's the hypocrisy of the thugs that gets me. i fear, though, that the combination of money and power is irresistible to most every human being, and certainly the ego-driven folks we're generally sending to congress. we shall see. i can always hope. meanwhile, it's delicious to see these haters brought down on a regular basis.
